Hidden in Plain Sight

Exhibition | Spring 2014

Hidden in Plain Sight is a hypothetical exhibition held at the NCM. The exhibition presents the methods and uses of cryptology through the lens of those who encrypt messages and those who decrypt them.

This project is part of a larger identity rebrand project for the National Cryptologic Museum. The installation used the museum tickets as a decryptor to reveal the methods and workings of cryptology in espionage.

The final presentation included all the collateral/typeface for the museum, printed pieces for the installation (posters, booklet, tickets), and a working installation.

This is part one of the project. Part two focuses on the hypothetical exhibition held at the museum called: Hidden in Plain Sight.

The final presentation included all the collateral/typeface for the museum, printed pieces for the installation (posters, booklet, tickets), and a working installation.

Berlin: Unplugged

Study Abroad | Fall 2014

I had the opportunity to study in Berlin, Germany with a group of 12 students from Art Center. The goal was to work in an unplugged manner— without computers or smartphones.

A few projects were created by the class as a whole, but there were also a number of individual projects that were pieced together in exhibitions held at the Testlab Berlin Studio and at Art Center in LA.

Professors: Simon Johnston, Dirk-Mario Boltz, Michael Sans, Erik Spiekermann

Teachers Assistant: Josh Finklea

Dell IX is a multitasking computer/tablet with dual touchscreen monitors, and unique foldable capability. It assists business professionals with working and presenting in multiple modes.

This was a sponsored project for Dell exploring the future of computing. Worked in a team including product and interaction design students. I designed the identity and the user interface for the product.

DotCrit

Interactive | Spring 2014

DotCrit is a site that allows Art Center students to upload their work-in-progress pieces for their peers or instructors to critique. The site aims to connect the Art Center community in a digital space as well as to showcase the beauty in the design process.

DotCrit is an updated web version of the mobile app DotHome from the Rebrand ACCD project.

Honda Research America

Identity Systems | Spring 2014

Sponsored project to create an identity system and collateral materials for Honda Research America (HRA). Worked in a team with fellow graphic design students, Limengqi (Emily) Xie and Jonathan Shi. The project was to expand on the mark that Jonathan designed. Our group presented our project to the Advanced Design team and was one of three selected to be presented to the company.
